What happens when a pawn, as difficult as this is to achieve in a game, makes its way to the other side of the board? It becomes a Queen, the most powerful piece that can move everywhere unrestricted.

Now before all of you say this is a reach or that I’m grabbing onto things that aren’t there, examine this:

Ash enters the room. Where is he standing?
Where a pawn would be.

Where is the crazy detective kneeling?
On a square in the second to last row (which makes a pawn a Queen).

Which direction is he facing?

Pawns can only move in one direction…he came from Ash’s location (i’m talking chessboard, figuratively speaking).

Queen=Trinity (free mind)

Crazy Detective (one square away from free mind…knows so much information but missing one vital piece that can bring it all together–meaning of the matrix)

The attorney is obviously making a comparison to the legal status of African Americans in the United States (considered 2/3 of a human being, no rights under constitution despite “justice and liberty for all”, etc, etc) during slavery, and that it’s a direct reference to the Dread Scott case, in which the Supreme Justices ruled that blacks were inferior and subhuman in comparison to whites.

The prosecution argued for an owner’s right to destroy property, which also parallels how the government viewed Afro-Americans in relation to their masters during that era (ie, as property).

“B166ER” looks like “BIGGER”:
Bigger was the name of a black character in contreversial, 1940’s book, “Native Son.” In the book Bigger Thomas is working for a white family (like a robot would for a human one), and accidently kills the white daughter through self preservation like B166ER. Just like in 2nd R, there is debate over a trial for the black Bigger.

In the novel, Native Son by Richard A. Wright, an African-American is put on trial for killing a white woman, and his lawyer is forced to argue in court for the humanity of his client. Eventually the case is lost and Bigger is sentenced to death.

The significance of Neo needing to discover his true self is not only related to Eastern Monism. At many points in the Bible people are given new names – Abram becomes Abraham, Sarah becomes Sarai, Jacob becomes Israel, Saul becomes Paul. Even Jesus heads out into the wilderness to find himself, though his name remains the same.
Perhaps another bit of symbolism is Neo’s awakening from the Matrix, when he rises out of the goo tub. A Christian’s water baptism is a symbol of the death of the old life and the birth into another as a new creation in Christ. Neo rises out of the liquid into his new life. –Steve Mattos

Interesting thought, but the thing that stuck me was that the 10th incarnation of Vishnu is the sixth fully human incarnation (just like Neo is the sixth incarnation of the one).

Seraphs are an incredibly powerful rank of angel in mythos. The had three pairs of wings (Alexial and Rociel were Seraphs, if anyone here has seen Angel Sanctuary) and were some of the first.
