“Michelle Yeoh is officially out of the running for The Matrix sequels. The star of Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon told the paper that she had turned down the offer and instead was going to focus on starring in and producing The Touch, a new action movie that will be produced by Yeoh’s new production company.
“I’m not going to do The Matrix,” Yeoh told Page Six. “I’m a great fan of the Wachowski brothers but some things are more important. I just started my own production company and the filming of it conflicted with my movie. I believe it is time to do other things, stories coming from Asia. At the end of the day you have to do what’s really important to you.”
